Hello.
Never previously had I ever thought of myself as someone who loved dessert. Even when cooking became a love and not a necessity, dessert never kept pace. Then one summer after receiving a homemade ice cream maker and using ingredients from my backyard garden to make sorbets did i realize, I love dessert, just not overly sweet heavy desserts that I was accustomed to. After a little research not only did I discover there were pastry chefs doing things that didn't look like they were stuck in the 80's but they also were anti-super sweet and exploring the line between savory and sweet. Instantly i was hooked. So this blog is a place for me to explore pastry from the research and reading I do on a daily basis. Not being able to go back to school for it, this will have to be my playground, my space for trial and error, my classroom. A lot of entries will be themed around dishes I'd serve if I had my own dessert bar / brunch spot / restaurant. Others will simply be shared inspiration.
